NYSC NOW TO POST CORP MEMBERS TO FARMS WITHIN THE COUNTRY.

As reported by a post on Vanguard news, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig-Gen. Suleiman Kazaure, said on Monday that the scheme would soon begin posting of corps members to farms. Kazaure said this in an interview with newsmen during his official visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Sagamu, Ogun. He said that the move to deploy corps members to farms was in line with the agricultural development programme of the NYSC.

Torrents of tribute have poured in for the renowned Yoruba movie actress, Moji Olaiya, a day after her death. Moji’s demise Thursday morning after she reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest sent a shock wave across the Nigerian entertainment industry. The family of late Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya, has dismissed reports that the deceased died of poisoning. A statement by Moji burial committee quoted the family as saying younger brother of the deceased, Yinka Farinde, who received the autopsy report of the deceased disclosed that poison was not linked to Moji’s death. The combined wealth of five richest people in Nigeria, estimated at $29.9 billion, could end extreme poverty in the country and stop about five million citizens living in the North-east from going through looming scorching hunger, a new report published by Oxfam Nigeria has said. The report titled, ‘Inequality in Nigeria,’ was presented to the media Wednesday in Abuja. It exposed the large and growing gap between the rich and the poor in the country, revealing how the benefits of economic growth have been captured by a small wealthy elite at the expense of ordinary Nigerians. According to the report, economic inequality has remained a key factor behind the terrorism-inspired conflict that has led to the severe food crisis in Nigeria’s North-eastern states of Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa.

GOVERNOR AMBODE FINALLY BANS VIOs FROM LAGOS ROADS PERMANENTLY.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Tuesday asked Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs) to stay permanently off all roads across the state and challenged them to come up with technology to monitor and track vehicle registration and Ministry of Transportation (MOT) certifications. Ambode also directed the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to stay off the inner-city roads and the main streets of Lagos, saying the operation of the federal agency should henceforth be restricted

WIZKID ANNOUNCES A 2 DAY FREE SHOW FOR UGANDANS.

Recall that last year, Ugandan authorities had issued an arrest warrant for Nigerian pop star Wizkid, who canceled a planned concert due to health reasons. Due to his inability to perform and wow his Ugandan fans, the 'Daddy Yo' crooner, Wizkid has announced that he would be holding free shows in Uganda this year.
