The British Government has made it known that international students will now be able to stay and work in the UK after graduating. The new policy added that there will be no limit to the number of students who can apply as those who have the student visa can switch to a skilled worker visa if they find a job which meets the relevant criteria. Two persons were stabbed on Sunday in a resurgence of xenophobic protests in Johannesburg, South Africa, according to The PUNCH The President, Nigerian Union South Africa, Adetola Olubajo, confirmed this to PUNCH’s correspondent in a telephone interview. Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe’s first post-independence leader, has died aged 95. He died after battling ill health, his family confirmed to the BBC. Mr Mugabe had been in hospital in Singapore since April. He was ousted in a military coup in November 2017, ending three decades in power. He won Zimbabwe’s first election after independence, becoming prime minister in 1980. He abolished the office in 1987, becoming president instead. Mugabe’s early years were praised for broadening access to health and education for the black majority. But his controversial land reform programme sparked an economic collapse and his latter years were marked by rights abuses and corruption. His successor, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, expressed his “utmost sadness”, calling Mr Mugabe “Zimbabwe’s founding father” and “an icon of liberation”. US tech giant Google said on Sunday it was pulling Huawei's license to use its mobile phone operating system Android, forcing the Chinese company to rely on an open source version of the software. New Huawei smartphones will no longer have access to services such as Gmail, maps and YouTube as well as security updates. However, people already owning Huawei phones will be able to use and update apps already downloaded. Last week, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order to stop US companies from using telecommunications equipment made by "foreign adversaries" deemed to pose a national security risk. Khafi Kareem, a contestant in the ongoing Big Brother Naija reality show, is currently being investigated by Scotland Yard for appearing on the show without permission, Evening Standard is reporting. Ms Kareem, a Met police officer, was refused permission to appear on the show by her superiors. Scotland Yard said it had not granted her request to appear on the programme and that an internal investigation would be carried out. Ms Kareem, from Ekiti State, was pictured alongside Commissioner Cressida Dick when the Met celebrated 100 years of women in the force last November. Arnault and his families are the majority owners of Christian Dior and LVMH, parent of such brands as Louis Vuitton, Celine, Fendi, Moët, Hennessy, Dom Pérignon, and others. As LVMH’s share price has soared in 2019, so has Arnault’s worth. It now stands at about $107.6 billion, more than $200 million ahead of Gates, Bloomberg estimates. Uganda’s Minister for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Mr Vincent Ssempijja, has announced the decision of the government on issuance of birth certificates to cows and registering of farmers, Igbere TV reports. According to reports, Ssempijja, while speaking at the official opening of the National Agricultural Show at the Source of the Nile grounds in Jinja on Tuesday, said the move was necessary, so ensure the traceability of their products and to enable them to benefit from the international market. Ssempijja said, “They (international market) want to know where the products are coming from; they have been impounding and banning all consignments from Uganda if they find one box with issues.” The minister added, “Farmers will be registered and their products are given barcodes so that if they find a problem with one box, they look for the source and sort out the problem. Washington on Tuesday became the first US state to legalise human composting after its eco-friendly governor signed a bill to that effect in a bid to cut carbon emissions from burials and cremations. Under the new law that will go into effect in May of next year, people who die in the state will have the option to have their bodies transformed into soil suitable for use in gardening in a process called recomposition. “Recomposition offers an alternative to embalming and burial or cremation that is natural, safe, sustainable, and will result in significant savings in carbon emissions and land usage,” said Katrina Spade, who lobbied for the law and is the founder of Recompose, a Seattle-based company set to be the first to offer the service. “The idea of returning to nature so directly and being folded back into the cycle of life and death is actually pretty beautiful,” Spade added in a statement sent to AFP. A major power outage on Saturday evening hit parts of New York, the commercial capital of the United States giving room for looting. The blackout, which occurred in Midtown Manhattan, the city’s economic and administrative centre, disrupted traffic light, elevator and subway services. This resulted in heavy traffic gridlock in affected streets and avenues, leaving many commuters stranded. Local media reports say the outage occurred just before 7 p.m. (midnight Nigerian time) following a fire outbreak at a power substation on West 49th Street. Con Edison, the city’s leading electricity service provider, said no fewer than 45,000 customers were without power in the affected area. In a tweet, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) said various underground stations were affected. A new documentary will examine what was left behind by the King of Pop after his tragic death on June 25, 2009, aged 50. For the first time, the three US detectives who led the original investigation into Jackson’s death,  Orlando Martinez, Dan Myers and Scott Smith will speak about what they found inside the room where Jackson died. The documentary recounts photographs from inside Jackson’s home treatment room, bedroom, and of Dr Conrad Murray’s medical bag.
