This Simply Implies That One Does Not Need Certificates To Be President - Yul Edochie Fires At Nigerian Judiciary and President Buhari

Yul Edochie who contested for the last elections has reacted to the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal verdict which struck out Atiku Abubakar and People’s Democractic Party’s petition of President Muhammadu Buhari not being qualified to contest in the 2019 Presidential election over his educational qualification.

The tribunal yesterday in its ruling said that Mr Buhari’s certificate from the Nigerian military is higher than the Secondary School certificate which is the minimum academic requirement for the election in the constitution and he is qualified to be the president.

“Mr Buhari is not only qualified but is eminently qualified” for the election, chairman of the Court of Appeal panel said.

The Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie recalled how he had to attach all his certificates up to his university degree to his form when he contested in the 2017 Anambra Governorship election.

He asked the Nigerian judiciary on the verdict which meant he doesn’t need those certificates to become the President, which is the highest political office in the country.

He tweeted;
When I ran for Governor I had to gather all my certificates up to my University degree and attach them to my form. Now you people are telling me I don’t even need those certificates to be President??? The highest office in the country? Chai! Nigerian judiciary diaris God oo!

Nigeria’s players are in dispute with the country’s football federation in the build-up to their Africa Cup of Nations match against Guinea. None of the Super Eagles players has received allowances or a $10,000 bonus. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is hoping to prevent a strike before the match in Egypt on Wednesday. “My player [Ahmed Musa] couldn’t attend the press conference today because they have a very important meeting,” said coach Gernot Rohr. “I just hope the situation can be resolved so we can focus on what we have in front of us.” The squad was an hour late for training on Tuesday and have not ruled out taking further action. The financially stricken NFF, which receives its funding from the government, has denied it was responsible for the delay in paying the players’ bonuses. The BBC understands that the team, which has been together since early June, had received verbal assurances that they would be paid before the tournament kicked o...
