Mohamed Salah Beats Lionel Messi To 30-League Goals In A Season
Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah scored in his side’s 3-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth to stretch his Premier League goal tally to 30 this season.

The Egyptian forward has hardly spent a season at Anfield and his performance in the last nine month has been impressive.

His second goal for the Reds last weekend’s meeting ensured he beats Barcelona star Lionel
Messi to the 30-goal mark this season and in the process, smashed Cristiano Ronaldo record.

The former AS Roma forward is the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to score 30 league goals this season, as Barcelona’s Lionel Messi is on 29 goals after failing to score in his side’s 2-1 victory over Valencia on Saturday.

Salah is just one goal from equaling the 31- goal record by Cristiano Ronaldo, Alan Shearer and former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez all in a league season.

He has also now taken the record for most Premier League games with a goal in a single season with 22, a record he had shared with Ronaldo and Robin van Persie.

The former Chelsea forward has scored 40 goals in all competitions this season, and that makes him the third Liverpool player to have achieve the feat, after Ian Rush, who did it twice, and Roger Hunt.
Salah’s assault on Rush’s all-time Liverpool single-season record continues as well.

He is now seven behind Rush’s 47 scored in the 1983-84 season. Salah has at least six games remaining, with four Premier League contests and the two-legged Champions League semi-final, to match or surpass Rush’s total.

And should Liverpool manage to get by Salah’s former club Roma in the semi-final, Salah would also get the Champions League final in Kiev to continue his assault on the Liverpool record books.
