It is no longer news that one of the world's most consumed food source in major countries is the NOODLES. It has being medically reported that women who eat instant noodles such as ramen, indomie noodles in a range of at least two times in a week are most liable to face a great risk of high blood pressure, elevated blood sugar levels and as well high cholesterol as confirmed by researchers form the United States.
Researchers at Harvard University found that the risk of metabolic syndrome among women is at a range of 68% but not the situation is less different in men who ate instant noodles more than twice in each week.
The consumption of instant noodles was associated with increased prevalence of metabolic syndromes in women, independent of major dietary patterns. Thus, it did not matter if women ate wide variety of traditional diet of rice, fish and vegetables or a diet heavier in meat and fried foods, if they still ate instant noodles twice in a week, they were at higher risk of health problems.
Though the reason is still unclear why the effect is more prevalent in women but not in men.
