NO JOHN TERRY TALKS WITH CHELSEA - BOURNEMOUTH BOSS SAYS.

Eddie Howe has said there have been no talks with Chelsea about John Terry going to Bournemouth on loan.

Sky sources revealed on Tuesday Bournemouth were interested in a possible deal to take Terry on loan to the South Coast, but the Bournemouth boss has denied talks have taken place.

"No. No negotiations with Chelsea at all," said Howe. "I admire John Terry greatly as a footballer, he's one of my favourite ever central defenders.

"When I looked at people when I was playing to try and emulate and get close to, he was one that I followed but there's been no discussions and no meeting. Nothing."

One defender who has moved between the Vitality Stadium and Stamford Bridge is Nathan Ake after Chelsea recalled their on loan full-back from Bournemouth.

Howe has admitted this was a blow as the young Dutchman has been a key factor in Bournemouth's impressive run of recent results.
"It was a disappointment Nathan Ake was recalled," Howe added. "He was improving with every game and was putting in consistent performances."

"Chelsea have every right to recall him and we respect them for that. We hope the loan benefited all parties."

Howe has seen his defensive options depleted further with the suspension of Simon Francis, who was shown a red card in the 3-3 draw against Arsenal.
The Bournemouth boss, though, is not about to make any panic buys in the January sales.

"There is no guarantee we will do anything in that position. What we are doing at the moment is assessing our options and seeing which decision we make," he said.

"We have some good players here who can fill that void, so it will be up to them, hopefully in the next game, to show I don't need to sign anyone."

Super Eagles Players Owed Bonuses & Allowances (Read Full Gist)

Nigeria’s players are in dispute with the country’s football federation in the build-up to their Africa Cup of Nations match against Guinea. None of the Super Eagles players has received allowances or a $10,000 bonus. The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is hoping to prevent a strike before the match in Egypt on Wednesday. “My player [Ahmed Musa] couldn’t attend the press conference today because they have a very important meeting,” said coach Gernot Rohr. “I just hope the situation can be resolved so we can focus on what we have in front of us.” The squad was an hour late for training on Tuesday and have not ruled out taking further action. The financially stricken NFF, which receives its funding from the government, has denied it was responsible for the delay in paying the players’ bonuses. The BBC understands that the team, which has been together since early June, had received verbal assurances that they would be paid before the tournament kicked o...
