Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan said to be in fresh trouble over the $15m frozen in four companies' accounts, which she had laid claim to. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has summoned some officials of the Department of State Services (DSS), attached to the former First Lady for questioning over the matter, as reported by PUNCH.
EFCC had already written a letter to the DSS, inviting the concerned officials to its office for interrogation. A detective of the commission, it was gathered, claimed that the commission had proof that the DSS officials deposited money severally into some of the accounts in Skye Bank between 2013 and 2015.
The four companies according to New 24 had pleaded guilty to the laundering the money before a Federal High Court in Lagos on Thursday.
The four companies, Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development & Investment Co. Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Development Company Limited and Avalon Global Property Development Company Limited.
The monies involved in the case is the same money which former First Lady, Patience Jonathan claimed belongs to her.
