The Guinness World Records has had Nigeria in its pages for quiet a few number of great times. The first Nigerian recorded to appear in the Guiness Book of World Records was for having the biggest football jersey in the world. Then, 300,000 students from the 600 public secondary schools in Lagos State simultaneously brushed their teeth at different locations defeating the record by India who had set the previous tooth brushing record. Kafayat Shafau is popularly known as Kaffy a.k.a The Dance Queen, broke the world record in longest dance with a time of 52 hours and 3 minutes in 2006. She did this with her team, Imagneto, at the Nokia Silverbird Danceathon. The renowned fitness and dance instructor, Kaffy has her own dance school. The 36 year old and mother of two (a boy and a girl) is said to have being married for 4 years.
Obi Ajuonuma popularly known as DJ Obi, rcently broke the world record for the longest ever DJ set. He commenced on 22nd of June and played all through until 11:30 p.m on 2nd July, 2016 completing a 240-hour marathon on the decks at a Lagos cafe, smashing the previous record of 200 hours set in Dublin by a Polish DJ called Norbert Selmaj in November 2014. He reported to have said that he set the record honor his late father, Levi Ajuonuma, who was a TV producer, before dying in the Dana airplane crash of 2012.

A Nigerian footballer, Harrison Chinedu has walked his way into the Guinness book of records, for something strange. He broke the previous record for the ‘farthest distance walked with a ball on the head’. He walked a total distance of 48.04 kilometers in 6 hours, 15 minute on th 6th of March, 2016 to beat the record formerly held by Indian soldier Naib Singh who walked a total distance of 45.64km in his country in 2014.

Chiddy Bang MC Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege has one for the record books. The Philly spitter broke the exhaustive Guinness World Record for Longest Freestyle Rap, going off the top of the dome for over nine straight hours. The feat, broadcast live from Las Vegas during the MTV O Music Awards, ended with Chiddy joining his partner Xaphoon Jones, accepting his certificate for rapping for 9 hours, 18 minutes, and 22 seconds.
