DRIVING LICENSE COST HAS REMAINED AT N6,350 FOR THREE YEARS – FRSC BOSS CLAIMS.

Chief Executive FRSC- Dr. BOBOYE OYEYEMI

The Corps Marshal and Chief Executive of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi has congratulated the Federal Government on the recent commissioning of the Abuja-Kaduna rail line. The FRSC boss, who stated that the new development, would reduce road mishaps along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway drastically, added that the cost of obtaining driving license remained N6,350 for three years and N10,350 for five years.

He made this disclosure in Lagos at the weekend during the annual training workshop organized by the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA).

He said, “There is too much pressure on the road. With about 12million registered vehicles plying 204,000 km of total road network, road safety is bound to be a challenge.”

Oyeyemi added that there was the urgent need to harmonize all the modes of transportation to reduce road traffic crashes.

The FRSC boss noted that Britain had the safest mode of transportation because of its inter-modal transportation system, suggesting that Nigeria should follow suit to bring down road crashes.

“What we need is effective inter-modal transportation system”, he said.
