Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This revelation was made by the EFCC who told a federal high court on Wednesday,
June 29, and explained how he took money from the Nigerian Air Force bank account to incur personal properties worth
billions of naira.
The retired Air Marshal was also arraigned with Jacob Adigun (an Air Vice Marshal) and
Gbadebo Olugbenga, on a 26-count charge of N50 billion theft. Reports came through that Justice Mohammed Idris whom is charge of the case also had Delfina Oil and Gas Ltd; McAllan Oil and Gas Ltd; Hebron Housing and Properties Company Ltd; Trapezites BDC; Fonds and
Pricey Ltd; Deegee Oil and Gas Ltd; Timsegg Investment Ltd; and Solomon Health Care Ltd in the matter.
Adesola Amosu and Jacob Adigun, a former Head of Accounts and Budgeting at the Nigerian Air
Force (NAF), were alleged to have removed billions of naira from NAF’s bank account to purchase personal properties in choice
locations in Abuja, Lagos, and London. The amount also included :
1. #400 million to renovate and purchase medical equipment for Solomon HealthCare Ltd, 24 Adeniyi Jones Street, Ikeja.
2. #500 million to purchase
a property at No. 1 River Street, Wuse 2,Abuja.
3. #240 million to purchase a property at No. 61A, Lake Chad Street, Maitama,Abuja, and
4. #370 million property at Agadez Street, off Aminu Kano Crescent, Abuja.
The charge sheet also stated hat #440 million was used to purchase a property at Salt
Lake Street, Maitama, Abuja; #1.7 billion for property at Agobogba Street, Parkview, Ikoyi.
Also, they were alleged to have withdrawn the sum of #660 million from the NAF account to
purchase two properties at No. 50-52 Tenterden Grove, London (NW4 1TH) and No. 93B Shirehall Park, London NW4 2QU, United Kingdom. To mention but a few.
Hence after pleading ‘not guilty’ to these listed charges, Bolaji Ayorinde, counsel to Amosu confirmed that his client had returned “colossal sums”
to the federal government just as Rotimi Oyedepo, the EFCC counsel, did not object to the defendants’ bail applications.
The justice granted both accused bail sum of #500 million with two sureties who must own properties within the court’s jurisdiction, directed them to submit their passports to the court’s deputy chief registrar and adjourned till July 8 for trial.
