MICHY BATSHUAYI |
Finally after a long chase, the English club Chelsea have agreed a £33million transfer fee with Marseille for the striker Michy Batshuayi. According to report, Batshuayi’s representatives have already outlined a five-year contract with Chelsea and his move will be cleared once he has undertaken the required medical tests and gone over finer details. It was gathered that Batshuayi is undergoing his medical in a clinic in Bordeaux with Chelsea staff at the moment. As soon as the club completes his signing, Marseille will pay Batshuayi’s former team Standard Liege £11.5m as part of their 35% sell-on agreement.
Marseille had to raise £21m by July 5 to pay of French football finance regulator DNCG for Batshuayi’s service. The 22-year-old scored 21 goals last season and was on the score sheet in his country’s 4-0 win over Hungary on Sunday, when he came off the bench to replace Romelu Lukaku.
