Kwara State Geri-Alimi Underpass: A Dismal Project of The Past Administration Or Circumstance Based?

As regards the disheartening situation of the main overhead bridge in Geri-Alimi area of Ilorin, Kwara State that was constructed some few years back by the past administration. The bridge came as a fascinating and indeed a beaut before every eyes in the metropolis as at the few years span of its construction.
Of about last week, the bridge has quite become.one of the major talks of town again following the heavy rains experienced in the past few weeks in the city which is likely one of the factors that contributed to the dismay of the condition the road is currently in.

Engineer Rotimi Iliasu Suleiman , the Kwara State commissioner for works, attributed the failed portion of the Geri-Alimi Diamond project done by the previous administration three years ago to poor project implementation and the use of substandard materials, and he carefully explained what should have been done as expected standard practice and procedure.
Amidst the road rehabilitation projects embarked on by the current administration, it's hoped by the people of the city that this might as well be looked into alongside other major roads under repairs as this underpass indeed serves a great purpose in easing the access of road navigation and reduced traffic in the area, which is a major area/entrance to the main city of Ilorin.
