The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has assured workers in the country of the payment of the reviewed minimum wage before the end of 2018. The General Secretary, NLC, Mr. Peter Ozo-Esan, gave this assurance in an interview on Tuesday, August 28, in Abuja, promised Nigerians that the new minimum wage will be implemented in September. He further revealed that in spite of the delay caused by the Sallah break, the tripartite committee involved with the review of the wage will conclude its work on Sept. 4th and 5th. Zamfara State Government has declared Friday, September 1, as work free day to enable eligible voters obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs. Govenor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, yesterday, promised to rebuild the demolished Music House owned by Evangelist Yinka Ayefele. Following the public outcry that trailed the demolition of Yinka Ayelefe’s Music House, Ajimobi pledged the state government’s commitment to assist the renowned gospel singer in rebuilding the demolished building and also give necessary logistics, adding that Ayefele had held a peace talk with him while he visited him in his office. The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dared the Senate president, Bukola Saraki, to reconvene the Senate if he was not losing sleep over possibility of his impeachment as claimed.
