The Lekki Concession Company Limited (LCC) has announced that from January 1, 2018, motorists using the toll gate at the Victoria Island end of the Lekki-Epe expressway and Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge would have to pay more. Currently, cars are levied N120, sport utility vehicles (SUVs) N150 and commercial buses N80 at the toll gate, while cars pay N250 and SUVs, N300 at the bridge. The Nigerian Navy on Monday decorated Navy Captain Jamila Malafa with her promoted rank of Commodore, equivalent with army rank of Brigadier General, making her the first female of Northern extraction to become a one-star general. An Ibadan born Judge has prevented US president, Donald Trump, from enforcing new rules with respect to Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act--otherwise called Obamacare. If  Trump had had his way ,  any employer would have been able to claim a religious or moral objection to Obama’s birth control mandate.  However,  Judge Wendy Beetlestone  ruled that the Commonwealth will suffer  “irreparable and serious harm”  from Trump’s proposal. There was a mild drama at the Aguata prisons in Anambra State when a defendant, Tobias Mbaekwe who was granted bail on health condition, declined to leave the prison environment despite family’s readiness to meets the bail conditions. Mbaekwe, who hailed from Ozubulu in Ekwusigo local government area of the state, was among the three juveniles who were incarcerated at medium security prisons, Aguata and ten others freed by the State Chief Judge, Justice Peter Umeadi on health ground and delay in prosecution.
