MULAN LIVE-ACTION TO FEATURE ALL ASIAN CAST AND NO WHITE LOVE INTEREST.

When the Mulan live action movie was announced, JJJ was so excited and we knew exactly who we wanted to portray the title character — but earlier this week, the movie was causing quite a controversy!

In a report, the film was said to feature a white male love interest for the Chinese solider who saved China from the Huns.

However, Vulture reports that that spec script that was obtained is bogus — whew!

Since then, the entire movie has been re-scripted by writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver and the film does feature an all-Asian cast.

“The spec script was a jumping-off point for a new take on the story that draws from both the literary ballad of Mulan and Disney’s 1998 animated film,” the source shared. “Mulan is and will always be the lead character in the story, and all primary roles, including the love interest, are Chinese.”

However, we’re pretty sure that Mulan doesn’t even need to have a love interest at all. We mean, SHE’S MULAN!
